Mike Dunn’s co-host this week was Paula (PA) Moller. Mike and PA’s guest on “Quest for Character” was the former publisher of Venus Magazine, Evangelist Charlene E. Cothran.
Conference Speaker, Author, Rev. and Evangelist Charlene E. Cothran is the founder of The Evidence Ministry, Inc. The ministry is planning its first major conference for July 2012. Cothran is the former publisher of VENUS Magazine and current publisher of VICTORY Magazine.
For 29 years prior to her transformation, Rev. Charlene E. Cothran had been an aggressive, creative and strategic supporter of gay and lesbian issues. As an activist, she organized and participated in marches and various lobbying efforts in the fight for equal treatment of gay men and lesbians.
VENUS Magazine once successfully targeted African American gays and lesbians. In that capacity, Cothran publicly addressed thousands, influencing closeted individuals to ‘come out’ and stand up for themselves.
“But now,” she states in a front page article in her own magazine, “I must come out of the closet again. I have recently experienced the power of change that came over me once I completely surrendered to the teachings of Jesus Christ. As a believer of the word of God, I fully accept and have always known that same-sex relationships are not what God intended for us.”
Since her conversion story was released, Cothran has been interviewed by numerous global media outlets and has traveled extensively to spread the Good News of the Gospel. Her platform message is that Change IS Possible! For those addicted to sexual sin God CAN and WILL deliver and transform ANY willing heart by the power of Christ alone. Rev. Cothran found The Evidence Ministry, Inc. in 2008. “God has shown me that people who no longer want homosexuality and other sexual brokenness in their lives need to see the EVIDENCE of change in those who are now made free by simply believing and applying the Word of God to daily life. We believe and teach that there is no pre-requisite for psychological interventions to be set free from sexual sin. We teach that when counseling is not administered by a trained and true Christian, it can be harmful in outcome to the person seeking freedom.
